Isla Magica
1st November 2008Today's trip itinerary was an utterly insane concoction courtesy of the indefatigable Martin. The man who last month flew to Salt Lake City as a day trip from England proposed what on the surface was a much more sensible plan; a same day return to southern Spain, taking in both Isla Magica and Tivoli World. Everyone reading about this itinerary in advance thought that it would never work. They were right, albeit for a reason that came entirely out of left field.
My flight from Dublin left well over an hour late, and as a result I'd advised my friends to head to the park without me; I'd follow in a taxi. My driver rose to the challenge of getting me there quickly, but even still by the time I'd made it through the gate it was just over half an hour before our hard cut off departure time. The park deserved at least half a day to explore, but as it was there was barely time for me to ride Jaguar (#1313) and Tren de Potosi (#1314) before charging out the door.
The frenetic pace was designed to allow us to spend ninety minutes in our second park... which was rained off. Malaga appeared to have been enjoying a torrential downpour for much of the afternoon, and it was immediately clear that Tivoli World had closed early. There was ample time to swear in the most vocal way possible before we headed for the airport.
