This year was in many ways a testament to the disadvantages of planning a trip well in advance. George worked out a wonderful itinerary for Japan which brought us to loads of new parks, only for us to rearrange things at ninety minutes notice with an additional cross country flight. Was it worth it? Arguably yes, but once again we managed to stretch the definition of sanity to breaking point!
